My dearest friends and community members,

What a year this has been for our community. We have weathered the storm of attacks from those that would wish us harm, a government which wishes we would no longer exist, and a fractured sense of belonging with the society many felt we were making strides to be a part of.

Pride season is a riot, a time to advocate, and a time to remember those that came before us to take us as far as we are today, especially our trans and BIPOC siblings. Always remember that when one member of our community is under attack, we come together to support them. We remember the sacrifices of our ancestors in order to fuel our push into the future. We are here, we have always been here, and we will be here for the future to come no matter how many times others try to erase us.

The time is now, more than ever, to advocate for a better future, a kinder world, and a safer environment for all of us. I encourage that you take the love you feel today and contact your government officials, volunteer, donate, and encourage for the passing of safeguard laws protecting the LGBTQIA+ community here in Delaware.

This festival is a testament to the strength of queer Delawareans as it has stood the test of time over the last 29 iterations, becoming a lasting tradition I am so happy to have the honor and privilege of continuing for years to come. Thank you for making my first year as President of this incredible organization so rewarding, we cannot wait to show you what we are do next.
